Kenya Budget Safaris are designed to help a vacationer traverse the amazing landscape with the least hustle possible. On a safari you get to visit the savannahs of Kenya including the seventh wonder of the world "The great wildebeest migration" in the Masai Mara, Kenya's best known game reserve and arguably the best game reserve in the whole world. You get to see a plethora of wildlife including the "big five" elephant, rhino, leopard, lion and buffalo. For birding enthusiasts, there are over 1400 species recorded here.

Kenya safaris offer a wonderful holiday for those wildlife lovers, they can be done to suit most budgets and offer a fascinating insight in to Kenya and its spectacular wildlife.

Jambo Safaris a safari travel agent in Arusha, we have amazing safari tours departing daily from Arusha and all are welcome to join.

The Machame Route is one of the best options for climbing Kilimanjaro and reputed to have the highest success rate. This scenic route offers a longer period for acclimatization and takes different routes up and down the mountain so you don’t do any backtracking over the same terrain. It features a tented camping experience as opposed to the Marangu Route which makes use of an extensive mountain hut system.

Your trip starts when we pick you up from the airport at Kilimanjaro from where we will take you to a hotel in Moshi for the night and you will be introduced to your mountain guide who will ensure you have all the necessary gear for the climb.

The next morning it's about an hour drive to the park gate where you will begin the trek. The first day of trekking is about 5 hours through the beautiful rainforest at the base of Kilimanjaro to the Machame Camp. The trek continues on the second day through increasingly sparse trees and bushes into moorlands and finishes at Shira Camp.

The third day of trekking is quite helpful for acclimatization as you ascend to the Lava Tower (15,000 feet / 4600m) before descending to the campsite in Barranco Valley. The area before the campsite is known as the "Garden of the Senecios", which features many huge senecio plants as well as the shorter lobelia plants.

The fourth day starts with the ascent of the Barranco Wall, which is the most difficult climb and involves some easy scrambling. Continuing from the Wall the trail levels out and descends a bit to the Karanga River where you will take lunch before reaching the high camp at Barafu. The vegetation has disappeared completely by the time you reach Barafu and you’re a presented with a barren volcanic plain. The afternoon is spent resting here and the push to the summit begins at 11pm when you gear up for a midnight departure.

Leaving at midnight it's a slow and cold 6 hour climb to the crater rim and then another hour traverse of the rim to Uhuru Peak the final summit. Having reached the summit you will descend again to Barafu take a short nap break and then continue to the lower elevations at Mweka Camp. One of the reasons for such a long day of trekking is to avoid problems with acclimatization and get you back down to a lower elevation quickly.

The sixth and final day has trekkers continue through the montane forest to Mweka Gate where transport will be waiting to take you back to Moshi where you will enjoy a final farewell dinner with the staff before departing the following morning.

The Aberdare Country Club

The Aberdare Country Club, only 190 miles drive heading northeast from Nairobi, is nestled on a slope of Mweiga Hill in the Aberdare Highlands, part of the Great Rift Valley. The Country Club was initially designed as a country home in the 1930’s for a British family. The scope of the captivating site grew and eventually incorporated a golf course, gym and spa, swimming pool, tennis court and lush landscaping as one finds it today. This includes a 1,300 acre wildlife sanctuary teeming with Thomson’s and Grant’s gazelles, zebras, giraffes, primates and the more reclusive leopards.

After its recent $ 4 million refurbishment program in 2012, whereby common areas have been upgraded include the bar, reception area, swimming pool and conference room. A new health Club with gym and yoga areas where added as well as a new VIP suite complete with self-contained kitchen for those who travel with their own chef. The club also provides golf carts for guests staying in the elevated cottages. Other upgrades include renovation of the riding stables, bringing the nine-hole golf course up to standard, and re-stocking the sprawling 1,300 acre wildlife sanctuary with a greater variety of wildlife.

The property retained its relaxing old-world country charm, and one can’t help but wonder about days gone by, as it reminds you of the early-20th century colonial period of Kenya’s history. The Aberdare upmarket country club with individual cottages set in beautiful roaming landscape, and polished verandas which runs through the western side of the club beckons revellers to enjoy the hillside breeze with drinks from the club’s stylish bar. A vast choice of buffet and elaborate á-la-carte meals are offered in the country club’s open restaurant that seats 220.

The now upmarket country club is the perfect base from which to explore the Aberdare’s national park and local conservancies. Including the quirky Noah's Ark-like lodge tucked into the thick, verdant forests of Kenya's Aberdare National Park, known for its new 24hr webcam from where people all over the world follow the daily routine at the water hole next to the quirky lodge.

Flight options: Aberdare Country Club is 1 mile from Mweiga airstrip, 6 miles from Nyeri airstrip and a forty minute drive from Nanyuki Airstrip
