Argentina

There's tango and gauchos, of course. But there's also mucho más, che! The big-sky country of Patagonia, Mendoza wine country, skiing at Bariloche. And of course there's Buenos Aires, one of the world's great metropoli.

I'll be at the gay tourism conference too...it's amazing to see the changes over the years, this is quite amazing, having been there when gay issues were semi-hush hush and it was not even that long ago...........

I'm heading to Buenos Aires to cover their annual gay tourism conference. It will be interesting to see how the recent development plays into future tourism growth!

Argentina legalizes same-sex marriage, making this destination already popular
with gay men and women likely to attract more and more tourists that demand to be treated with dignity and respect. America, once the beacon of liberty for humankind, should be embarrassed to see others lead the way into a future of equality and justice.

"Hello!

I am looking for a furnished apt. in BA but am having some troubles finding a company that doesn't overcharge me because I'm American. Does anyone have any suggestions for companies or sites to search on?

Thanks!"

Congrats to Argentina on winning the Oscar last night! I'm heading to Buenos Aires on Sunday -- anyone have any tips on what's new and exciting?
In addition, the Academy Awards got me thinking of my favorite Argentina-themed movies, and I've listed them on my blog below. Anyone have additional recommendations for movies to get me in the mood for Argentina?

Oktoberfest, anyone? Here's a great article about the Teutonic celebration in Argentina.

Welcome, Claudia! I admit I had not heard of San Vicente before. How far is it from Buenos Aires, and what's its "claim to fame"?
