The Grand Canyon, certainly. But also: sophisticated Phoenix, Tucson, Scottsdale, and Tempe; fascinating Native American culture and ruins; golf; spas; rafting the Colorado River; houseboating Lake Powell and others; Sedona Red Rock country.

On the concluding chapter of our Laughlin report at The World on Wheels, we hit the river and get a cameo from a Country Music Hall of Fame member. It's Laughlin, Nevada.

All this summer heat makes the crew at The World on Wheels want to hit the river. Come along with us to the Colorado River on the Nevada/Arizona border. It's hot in Laughlin, y'all.

Tucson turns out to be much chillier than expected on today's post at The World on Wheels plus...we call them "ghetto dogs" in L.A.. Bacon wrapped hot dogs that migrated up from Tijuana. Here, they're called "Sonora Dogs." All that and more as we hit the cold streets of Tucson, Arizona.

At The World on Wheels, this week's Fields of Dreams report takes us out to the very warm Valley of the Sun to a den of snakes. Home of the Diamondbacks, it's Chase Field in Phoenix, Arizona.
