Pretty decent writeup posted on Fodors.com several days ago on "How to Rent a Car Cheaply." Nothing particularly new or earth-shattering, but helpful to have it in one easily digestible writeup. It boils down to:

1. Use Priceline.
2. Know how much insurance you need or don't need.
3. Watch out for those little "extras."
4. Avoid airport rentals if at all possible.
5. Watch out for the fine print.
