Illinois

Sure, it's home to big, brash Chicago, but there are a lot of lower-key historic and natural charms, too, including sites related to Abe Lincoln and Lewis and Clark (not to mention, more recently, Barack).

Planning on being in St. Louis anytime soon? Although it's a pretty simple setup, the city has a decent transit scheme spanning across the Mississippi River into Illinois. Today on The World on Wheels, take a look at our brand new St. Louis Transit Report: http://tinyurl.com/2cs9bh5

I just returned from the Shawnee Hills Wine Trail in southern Illinois. What a great experience! It's the only AVA in Illinois. Loved it!

It's game time in St. Louis. We finish up the St. Louis leg of the Midwest Baseball Tour by taking in a game at Busch Stadium and having some frozen custard. It's online right now with a new report, new pictures, and video at The World on Wheels. Let's Play Ball! - http://tinyurl.com/23zoh7t

It's funny because everyone I know insists I moved to Chicago no matter how many times I tell them I'm no where near there! Champaign is very different because you have the mixture of people at the University from all over the world, the southern influence since we are so close to Kentucky, and the farmland just outside.

I can imagine, Marcia. Outside of Chicago, I think plenty of people underestimate all the great stuff there is to experience in this state.

I moved to Champaign a year and a half ago. I'm really enjoying discovering different places in IL!
