7 DAYS MT.KENYA CLIMB NAROMORU ROUTE

Day 1: Nairobi – Naro Moru

Depart from Nairobi at 9:00AM and drive south through the central part of Kenya where Tea and Coffee is the main cash crop to Naro Moru town. Arriving there in time for lunch. Afternoon time allowing acclimatization walk to the Mau Mau caves. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 2: Naru Moru Park Gate

Transfer to Naro Moru Park Gate for park formalities and start the hike at, 2600m from the gate, keep to the park track, which follows the crest of a board ridge between the Northern and Southern Naro Moru valleys. The going is easy and it’s a pleasant walking through the forest. About two thirds of the way up after the bridge there are good views to the left north down into the Northern Naro Moru valley, to Met station camp 3050m.TIME TAKEN 3-4 HRS, DISTANCE 10KM.

Day 3: Met Station Camp - Mackinder’s Camp

Head uphill on the track to pass the radio must on your right after about half an hour. The trek runs into a path and after another 30 minutes, you will reach the end of the forest belt and enter the moorland. This is the vertical bog conditions range from damp to glutinous depending on when it last rained. Continue through until the going improves and you reach a fork overlooking Teleki Valley to reach Mackinder’s Camp, 4300M. Dinner and overnight at Mackinder’s Camp. TIME TAKEN 5-6 HRS, DISTANCE 14KM.

Day 4: Mackinder’s Camp – Shipton Camp

Depart from the camp after breakfast and follow the western terminal via the American camp where you take Most of the best pictures of diamond and Tyndall glacier from the south. Going up Teleki Valley and down hauseberg valley to Shiptons camp 4200M. This day you’ll more time for acclimatization. TIME TAKEN 3-4 HRS, DISTANCE 7KM.

Day 5: Shipton Camp – Lewis Camp
Leave at around 8.30AM and hike clockwise rotation through Simba col where you will have a chance to view the way to Austrian camp 4790m arriving there in time for lunch. Afternoon walk around to view the largest glacier of Mt.kenya LEWIS. Dinner and overnight at the
camp. TIME TAKEN 3 HRS, DISTANCE 5KM.

Day 6: Lewis Camp – Pt. Lenana

After early morning breakfast of tea and some cookies start to the summit at around 5.A.M it will just take you about 1HR the Summit Pt. Lenana 4985M.Timing yourself to get there in good time for the SUNRISE. If the weather is clear you will be able to see the top of Mount Kilimanjaro 320km to the east. Back to the camp for your full breakfast and later further down to Met Station Camp 3050m for your last night on the mountain. Dinner and overnight at the camp.



Day 7: Met Station - Nairobi
after breakfast descends down to Naro Moru gate where you’ll connect your transfer back to Nairobi arriving between 3:00PM and 4:00PM. END OF OUR SERVICE.
