Teacher-Student Travel Tips

After sleeping under the stars with snoring teens in tents all around me, I have discovered students can be a different breed of traveler than adults.  For instance, they can be picky (perhaps suspicious is a better word!) eaters, but I haven't met one yet that I couldn't get to at least try the local locro or quinoa soup.…

My Observations of the Japan Quake

I just wanted to post some things I saw during the quake. I was near Asakusa station in Tokyo waiting for my son. We were going to visit Nikko for the weekend. I was in a building on the first floor. After I felt the quake , I exited the building and waited in the middle of the street with others. Being from California, we are told to stay put or get under a desk or doorway during a quake. In Japan, it seems like everybody wants to be outside during a quake. Right or wrong, thats what I did.…

A New Tool for Those in the Hospitality Industry

Lately, I’ve been traveling a lot so I’ve had time to read those inflight magazines. The other day I was on an American Airlines flight and was able to read theAmerican Way magazine. To my surprise I found an article about the hospitality industry using social media, which obviously caught my attention.
