Yup, that's what everybody says. I haven't snorkeled in a long while but look forward to doing it there. Just today I got some "shoes" to wear in the water, as I'm told the seabed is very rocky. Sunblock? You bet, also a brimmed hat. How recently were you there and for how long? Everybody raves about its beauty.

Thanks,

Dorothy

Thanks, Sandra. The volunteer project is set up by Frontier, a British society working on environmental issues. I'll have my laptop with me but need to get an adaptor plug in order to recharge it. Power source itself is okay, just the plug-in part is different from the US. It appears to be a different style also from what is used in Tahiti. So I'm still searching. Any hints gratefully accepted.

Hi Sandra, I leave Sept. 17 for the Cook Islands where I'll be volunteering in a school in Aitutaki for 2+ weeks before heading to Papeete for the Aranui III cruise around the Marquesas Islands. Any advice or comments about Aitutaki? I'll be housed with a local family.   Thanks, Dorothy

Hi Sandra, It is a little confusing. The group on Tripatini, as the groups on Facepage and LinkedIn are open to the public--not only members of the Assoc. To see who the members of the Assoc. are go to the website http://ifwtwa.org. We hope more people will join this group and we can exchange ideas on food, wine and travel writing, and we will encourage them to check out the benefits of IFWTWA--the Association.
I hope this helps. Cheers John

Good afternoon, Sandra, and welcome to Tripatini! It's great to have you with us -- and we think you'll find our site productive as well as interesting and enjoyable.

To get the most out of Tripatini, you may want to take a moment to join several of our many groups which you may find of particular interest, such as Media Only, Oregon, Canada, New Zealand, Turkey, Ecuador, Argentina, Uruguay, Alaska, Washington State, China, Luxury Travel, Solo Travel, Maine, Vermont, Adventure Travel, Budget Travel, Cruising, Bed & Breakfasts/Inns, Working Abroad, Eating/Drinking the World, Travel Photography, Movies & Travel, Eco/Sustainable Tourism, Antarctica, Portugal, Peru, our Spanish and Portuguese language/culture clubs, and plenty of others covering many other topics and most destinations across the globe.

FYI, on your profile you'll see a green bar marked "Text Box," which you can turn into a box containing not just text but also photos and even videos about yourself, your interests, your travels, and your writing/outlets.

Finally, if you would, please be so kind as to spread the word among your travel-interested friends, family, colleagues, associates, and readers. It's fast and easy to use our "INVITE" function above left on the navigation bar to enter e-mails (even your whole list at once!). If you have the chance to cover us in any of your outlets, that would be great, and if you might be interested in blogging for us on occasion rates/guidelines are available upon request.

Thanks much for joining us, Sandra; we wish you an outstanding rest of 2009 and look forward to seeing you online.

Cheers!
