On a break from teaching high school I took a summer job in Lake Tahoe and didn't leave for many years. Ray was studying at City University in London when he saw an advert 'Train Up To Be A Croupier, See The World.' He took that advice and worked as an inspector in casinos all over Europe, from Moscow to Greece. We met while working on a cruise ship in the Carribean. Raymond jumbed ship to be with me and we married after a whirlwind romance. We wrote a book about that adventure, Cruise Quarters - A Novel About Casinos and Cruise Ships.

We have also walked 500 miles across Spain. Our movie of the trip, Camino De Santiago - A Walker's Guide, is a popular DVD guide to the Camino. It shows the terrrain, and helps out with the practical aspect of traversing the Camino.

We are glad to be a part of a group that loves to travel as much as we do.

Our area is also known for adventure activities ie rafting, parachuting and bungy jumping. Relaxing walks are plentiful here as is water activities on the lakes and of course trout fishing.

We are close to a lakeside restaurant which serves fabulous food and we are very proud of our wines, especially our Marlborough sav blancs.

We enjoy an orchard of mostly heirloom fruit, which we use as breakfast fruit and for jams.
