Profile Information

Are you connected to the tourism/travel/hospitality industries or travel media in any way? If so, please specify how (kindly include any relevant company names/Web sites!).
I am a certified and licensed Tout Guide, Tour Leader and Tour Manager.

Below is what I wrote on one of my blogs - as it fully describes my activity and me personally:

I am - I collect - I track - I love

Those four words characterize my professional life. They also characterize me personally…

I was born in Gdansk, as a descendant of a family which moved into the city in... 17th century.
As a daughter of a Master Mariner I was brought up on board of the ship, and in Nigeria.
Nevertheless I returned to my home town.
I worked as a probation officer for some years, as well as in several companies, but finally decided to become a full time guide.

So...

I am… a licensed Tour Guide and Tour Leader (Manager).
And as such I have a wide range of qualifications and quite a collection of licenses.

I have state licenses to guide in and around Gdansk, as well as Torun.

I am also licensed to guide and manage tours in and around the two northern provinces of Poland – the Pomeranian and Warmia-Mazury.

I am also certified to guide in and around the Castle Museum in Malbork as well as in Nicolas Copernicus Museum in Frombork, etc…

I am also a licensed Tour Leader/Manager.

I have powers to teach new guides, and am a state appointed examiner for the new guides and tour leaders.

I have been cooperating with many Tour Operators, both Polish and foreign, schools, universities, companies, organisations.

As an expert on Poland, I help organizing tours here, as well as help creating interesting tour itineraries. I also prepare tailored tours for individuals, as well as groups. I help finding accomodation and help organizing transportation.

I collect… bricks.
Those are mostly gothic bricks, as I specialize in the times of Prussia Teutonic and Ducal as well as Royal. I collect bricks, because they can tell a story and can make the walls reveal their secrets.

I track… Tutivillus, which is not the easiest task, but is a guarantee of an adventure. This is one of medieval mysteries. To trace it - is to participate in a fine adventure... To learn about Tutivillus - you have to join me on one of my trips :)
Tutivillus is also the name of my small guiding company.

I love… what I am doing. Quitting office work some years ago, and devoting my life to guiding gave me a privilege of setting off to work with pleasure.

Besides I train new guides, I teach how to "read" walls, paintings, medieval symbols. By sharing my passion with my groups - I make the places I guide around – very special.

I am a translator and an interpreter during meetings or conferences. I investigate family genealogies, I write a little, I paint, and most of all – I take a lot of pictures.

And privately? Privately I am a happy person, as my job is my passion.
On which destinations & travel topics can you advise members especially well?
I am an expert on Poland. As a certified guide in Malbork Castle - I would be happy to provide any needed information about the place, and tours, not to mention guiding around it. I would also be happy to help about Gdansk and the area, also Torun, where one can ... touch gothic. I would be happy to help about the Polish cuisine, Polish history, the history of the monasticism here, the medieval history of the Baltic Area, etc.
What destinations are you most interested in learning about?
England, The Netherlands
Other travel / language expertise?
tailored tours, genealogical tours, specialist tours, Study Tours in Poland, interpreting and translating, city tours, museum tours, culinary tours
