The changes which Eta visa have brought

The Sri Lanka government has designed new form of visa for tourists of the world. ETA stands for electronic travel authorization visa, which is granted to tourists in electronic form. The minimum number of days which you have to apply for visa prior to your tour to this island country is 72 hours. Electronic travel authorization Sri Lanka grants you eta visa on your email ID. It is important to note that traditional form of availing the visa is not abandoned by the government of Sri Lanka, you can opt this method too based upon your conveniences. The eta visa and Sri Lanka visa has much dissimilarity:

• The expiration difference: If you want to spend longer duration is this country go for regular visa else eta visa is suitable for you. The eta visa is valid for 90 days only that starts from the date your visa is processed. The regular visa is valid till six months.

• Staying duration: When you avail regular visa, you can stay for number of days as specified on your visa. When you apply for eta visa you can stay for 28 days only. Also, the regular visa gives you freedom to choose your option to stay in the country; you can stay in hotel or even at your friend’s house. But eta visa restricts the staying option. You can stay only at registered accommodations.

• Traveling with Eta visa: Before booking your flight to Sri Lanka, check if your flight accepts eta visa or not. Many flights do not accept eta visa. However, there’s no such issue with regular visa.

Attributes: The electronic visa is a digitalized form of visa which you can print on the paper as per your conveniences. Your regular visa is like a booklet just like driving license.
