1.SRI OMKARESHWARA TEMPLE
A Shiva temple built by the King Lingaraja in 1820 to appease the spirit of Brahmin.
The structure is in Indo-Saresenic style of architecture with a dome and four turrets at the corners. The installed ‘Shivalinga’ is specially brought from Varanasi.

2.FORT WITH PALACE
The Fort crowning the town built in 1681, an imposing
Structurem and inside an English Church in plain gothic style. The palace within the fort rebuilt by Tippu in 1790 and again Lingaraja during 1820. Two life size Elephant, made of mortar with majesty,
Catches one’s eye on entering.
Presently houses of Government offices, public library and a Museum of historical relics.

3.GADDIGE :
The tombs of Raja’s dynasty
Built in northern extremity of Mahadevpet called Gaddige by Lingarajendra with a high embankment. A tribute to the Rulers.(0900 to 0500) 3 km

4.ABBEY
A 70 ft. waterfall, formerly named as Jessee Falls inhonour of a daughter of the first chaplain of Mercara, an admiring beauty spot for picnic.

3.HARANGI DAM
It has built across the tributary of Cavery with a height of 47 mtrs & 846 mtrs in length

4.DUBARE ELEPHANT CAMP
A natural island with the elephant training

1.BHAGAMNDALA
The “Thriveni Sangama” of the sacred rivers of coorgCauvery, Kannike and Sujyothi, a sub terranean stream. An important pilgrimage centre called Bhagandeshwara Kshethra, where pilgrims first take bath, offer oblations to their departed ancestors, then ascend the hills for a holy bath at Thalacauvery. A distance of 36 kms.0900am to 0600pm.

1.IRUPPU
A water fall of 60 feet from the top of the hills flow as “Laxmana Theertha” situated in Kurchi Village of South Coorg. A Shiva temple dedicated by Sri Rama on the bank of the river where pilgrims congregate on ‘Mahashivarathri”. The natural beauty-a treat to the eyes. A journey of 90 kms.0900 am to 0400pm.

2.NALKNAD PALACE
A structure built by King Dodda Veera Rajendra in 1972 at the bottom of the highest mountain of Coorg “The Thadiyandamol”. Igguthappa templeis a deviation from kakkabe on the way to this palace. 45 kms via Napoklu.

3.NAGARHOLE
Rajiv Gandhi National Park constituted in 1955, extends over 650 sqmtrs. A large plantation of Teak Wood is the wealth of nature. An excellent opportunity to watch wild animals, tigers, deers, bisons and peacock by a vehicle safari. 115 kms from Madikeri.(0630 am to 0800am,
0300pm to 0500pm.)
