Affordable accommodations in or near Barcelona?

I will be arriving on Sunday for 7 days.

We will be visiting the Barcelona Convention Center.

Any good Apartment or Good Hotel to stay ? We will be renting a car so, I assume that Car / Transportation would not be a problem

Some times 10 o 30 miles away is not that bad if we could save some dollars
