In August 2010, the locally-based Violeta B. Chamorro Foundation invited three U.S. journalists to speak at a seminar, moderated by Cristiana Chamorro, for an audience composed of Nicaraguan journalists about digital media and its uses in journalism. 2009.10.24: Colombian President Hosts First Tripatini Meet-up

Not knowingly, of course, but that didn't stop Tripatini Director David Paul Appell (center) from partying with guidebook author Christopher Baker (left), Diario de las Americas wine & travel columnist José R. Garrigó (right), and Tripatini President José Balido (taking the picture!) Saturday night, October 24, 2009, at the swank private island retreat of Colombian President Álvaro Uribe in Cartagena de Indias, one of the loveliest Spanish Colonial towns in the Americas. The party, hosted by gracious First Lady Lina Moreno de Uribe, was an early bash in honor of the 200th anniversary of Colombian independence next year.
