Hi Allan,

Spain is one of my passions, and it is certainly a fabulous destination for a honeymoon. Before making some recommendations, though, it would help to know a little about your clients. For example, are they into a quiet, romantic seaside honeymoon? Or do they want to dance every night till the wee hours in a euro-chic spot such as Ibiza? Are they physically active? Would they prefer to go hiking in the Pyrenees, or strolling in Barcelona? Or a little of all the above? If you can give a little bit of a psychological profile of your clients, I can give you much more focused advice.

Jose,

Thank you for you reply. I know they are looking at a bit of everything you have mentionned ( except hiking ). This is there first time to Spain so I deffinetely want them to get a good overview of Spain , but it's impossible to do it all in 2 weeks. By the way the wedding is in early September and they do want 5-7 days on the beach to recover.

Thank you

Allan, they can't do it all, as you say. I'm partial to Barcelona, but these are first-timers, so they'll want to see quintessential Spain, not Catalonia.  I'd encourage them to fly to Madrid, spend a few days there getting used to being in Spain and celebrating in style. Then, a few daytrips, maybe Toledo and Segovia. Then the bullet train to Andalucia, which is the Spain we all think of when we think of the Alhambra and flamenco, paella and olives and orange blossoms. They can see the Alhambra in Grenada, maybe stop in Cordoba for the mosque, and then spend a few days in Seville. Finally, they can do the beach thing on the Costa del Sol -- Marbella has a good vibe for young people -- before heading north again to Madrid and home.

It sounds perfect. Thanks for the input. Would you have any Hotel recommendations? What is your opinion of a couple of days in Mallorca? Not really sure it could be squeezed in. How is Valencia and that coastal route to Malaga?

Thank you

They might also like to think about possibly 2-3 nights in Nerja....beach and outdoor markets, lots of artists and their wares. Have some apartments that let for short periods that  time of year.  If interested, email me and I can send some ideas.
Thank you. Do you have any 5 * recommendations in Marbella, on the beach? Thank you
I've visited a half dozen or so of the hotels and stayed at three of them, but not within the last three years. The two I would recommend would be the Marbella Club and Puente Romano.

Ed,

Thank you for your recommendations. Can I also ask you for top 4* hotels in case price becomes an issue.

Thanks once again

There are none I can recommend, Allan, if only out of lack of real familiarity. Perhaps someone else can do better. Note, too, that I have not looked up the current ratings of the Marbella Club and Puente Romano; I'm just assuming they're still five stars.

Keep us posted on how this trip shapes up.

Allan, I just saw this pop up on the blogs: http://www.tripatini.com/profiles/blogs/top-10-most-amazing-places-in

It's not an answer to your question, but it will help you visualize some of the places I've mentioned.
