How to get from Chamonix, France to Milan?

Hi All,

Total newbie to this network so heres my first question: - 

What is the quickest way to get from Chamonix, France to Milan?

Hi Daniele, Are you driving? If so then the quickest way is through the Mont Blanc tunnel, close to Chamonix, and then basically just follow the autostrada that begins on the Italian side. It is not only the quickest way, but also a wonderfully scenic route, between high mountains for much of the way. As you come out of the mountains, switch from the A5 to the A4 motorway, although it is clearly signposted for Milano. Have fun!

No were not driving! We are taking public transport - thats why need the advice...

As far as I know the only way would be to take a bus from Chamonix in the wrong direction back to Geneva train station or airport (doesn't make any difference), then you will be able to take a train from Geneva to Milano.

Great advice - we get a free transfer back to Geneva included, so will look at trains from there to Milan. :-)
