I wanna take my family to relax, including four adults, two of which are seniors. So we don't want to have a tight schedule. Can you recommend me some cities, attractions, hotels and restaurants so I can arrange my trip itinerary. Thanks!

If the trip is just one week, then I would just visit two cities -- Rome and Venice, and I would take the family to the major attractions, because they'll want to see Rome's Colosseum, the Pantheon, the Forum, the Vatican, Castel d'Angelo, etc. In Venice, they'll want to see the canals, St. Mark's Cathedral, the Doge's Palace, etc. These attractions can all get, but the reason they can all get crowded is because they really are spectacular. Rome should be the longer stay.  Also, in both these cities it's important to sit down in popular piazzas (e.g. Navonna in Rome), rest your eyes from all the art, and just look at the people.

It depends on your likes and dislikes.  I agree with seeing Venice and Rome - if you had a couple of extra days I would also suggest Florence too or even a day trip from Rome to Pompeii. 

Main things to see in Rome - Coliseum, Vatican, Forum, Spanish Steps.  You can use the Hop on Hop Off buses for some of these but I highly suggest buying tickets in advance - and make sure you buy "Skip the Line" entrance. Many of us sell the excursions separately.

In Venice, Ed hot on the top sights to see. You don't really need more than 2 days in Venice.

When are you planning to travel? And how old/mobile are the seniors? A tour that involves a lot of walking may be difficult, depending on the ages. Venice is amazing, and one of my favorite spots. But usually requires a bit of walking. Checking out elevator availability at your hotels may be important as well.

If you are traveling during high season, pre-purchasing tickets to venues such as the Doge's Palace in Venice is important, unless you are all up for waiting in long line to get in.
