I need a cooking experience in Central America (not Honduras as we have already written two). Any suggestions. Can be a cooking school or a hotel that offers a cooking class.

Thanks,

My suggestion is to start with Eliot Greenspan, writer for Frommer's guidebooks, and author of the Costa Rica Eats culinary blog website (www.costaricaeats.com). On his site, there is a link for Classes -- he talks about a new "Centro Gastronomico" in Escazu called Sabores. You can also click on the Contact button and ask Eliot directly. If there are cooking classes, he'll know.

Cheers!

Sibu Chocolate also often holds special cooking workshops and events. They have regular chocolate tasting tours. Check it out at http://www.sibuchocolate.com/chocolate-tasting.html. Owner George Soriano would be another great source of information for you.

Hi

great to hear that, think El Salvador could be great for you! our local dish is pupusas and would love to have you cooking with the local community. They are kind of stuffed tortillas with beans / cheese / chicharon and combined with sause and kind of sauerkraut......

you can contact me at info@epictourselsalvador.com, happy to help you out

have a great time in central America!  Esther

I was came back from Cala Luna hotel in Langosta Beach, Guanacaste. It is a boutique hotel, first class and with a great cuisine. Not only they grow on the grounds of the hotel a lot of the produce they used, but they have taken this practice to their employees, encouraging them to do the same at their homes and have it sold to the hotel. The owner, a great Belgium lady lives about 30 minutes from the hotel in a beautiful house that she opens to her guests of the hotel and offer cooking lessons. She is responsible for the design of the menu of the restaurants of the hotel, and lately is introducing forest grows into her dishes. A real unique an gourmet experience. Her name is Griet and you can contact her at griet@calaluna.com. I think this can be a  great experience to write your article. Kind regards and good luck.

Rolando.
