the world's smartest travel social network
July 2010 – London - Smart card technology operator the Leisure Pass Group has expanded into its fifth country and now provides the technology that powers the Prague
City Card sightseeing pass. The move follows successful operations in the UK,
US, Sweden and France where the business runs numerous sightseeing smart cards.
In 12 years of business, Leisure Pass Group has been responsible for over four
million visits to top worldwide attractions such as the Tower of London, the
Empire State Building, the Louvre, York Minster and Philadelphia’s Benjamin
Franklin Institute.
Darran Evans, chief executive officer, Leisure Pass Group, comments:
“The Leisure Pass Group recently celebrated its one millionth customer for the
London Sightseeing Pass, and the expansion of our system into another country means we should power our five millionth global customer experience within the next 12 months. The addition of Prague kick-starts an exciting period for the business and we are looking to increase our operations in more tourist hot spots, particularly throughout
Europe.”
The Prague City Card becomes the ninth sightseeing pass to operate on the
Leisure Pass Group’s technology, the Leisure Pass Operating System. The system
allows cash-less transactions at each attraction, and for individual venues to
monitor card usage and numerous visitor information statistics.
The Prague City Card includes admission to attractions in the popular Czech
Republic city such as Prague Castle, the Old Town Hall, the Charles Bridge
Towers, plus many more cathedrals, palaces, museums and gardens. The Prague
City Card is valid for four consecutive days and costs $47 for adults and $32
for children and students. For more information on the Prague City Card see
