Travel in Kazakhstan and Siberia?

I am traveling with a few friends to to Golden Mountains in Siberia. We are leaving from Germany and plan to fly to Ukraine or Kazakhstan and travel the rest of the way by train or bus. Since we have never been there we don't know how to travel through Kazakhstan. Anyone have any information on this subject?

i never found any problem looking for a bus to go anywhere in Kazakhstan. If you can't find it, shared taxis work well and they are not that expensive. Anyway, if you are not going to remote places and you just want to cross the country, the bus will be fine. Or even train. And Kazakh trains are one of the most funny experiences I ever had...
