Choosing a route will be determined by a couple of things/reasons: the route's scenery, difficulty, traffic and its altitude acclimatization characteristics.

Marangu ("Coca Cola") Route

Known as the "Coca-Cola" route, the Marangu route is a classic trek on Mount Kilimanjaro. It is the oldest, most well established route. Many favor the Marangu route because it is considered to be the easiest path on the mountain, given its gradual slope. It is also the only route which offers sleeping huts in dormitory style accommodations.

The minimum days required for this route is five, although the probability of successfully reaching the top in that time period is quite low. Spending an extra acclimatization day on the mountain is highly recommended when climbing Klimanjaro using the Marangu route.

However, despite its immense popularity, many people avoid the Marangu route. The route has the least scenic variety of all the routes because the ascent and descent are done on the same path and it is the most crowded route for that reason

Other routes include the Machame, Lemosho, Ubwe, Rongai and Shira all wich require minimum recommended days of between 7-8 days.

Wish you all the best as you plan your Tanzania trip!

Hello Trekking hero;

The best mount Kili hiking/trekking to the pic with more ease, that has proven the test of time, age and even gender is the famous marangu route, commonly Known as the coco cola route.

Though for those who would ascending to the top following the less beaten track, I wound not recommend marangu since it is highly overcrowded,due to the fact that it is less scenic and the ascending/descending are done on the same path.

Other routes which are also pretty good the ones are;Machame route trek,Lemosho route hike,hiking rongai route,umbwe rout trekking

We wish you all the best with your kili hiking.

Kilimanjaro routes list and details helps tourists to choose suitable route

Climbing mount kilimanjaro aim to explore and see tourist attractions which are in Mount Kilimanjaro. Tourists have to get chance and space to see most kilimanjaro features like plants,wildlife,volcano and snow. These facts justifies Machame route to be best route to climb kilimanjaro. Machame route does not have crowd tourists like Marangu. Trekking Kilimanjaro through Machame route enables tourists to acclimatize well and hence get high% guarantee to hike to summit.
