Today at The World on Wheels, our Highway 395 road trip kicks it in high gear as we enter California's Owens Valley. From the highest point in the land to the lowest and many historical sites in between. It's a ruggedly beautiful area: http://tinyurl.com/7rlupvf

Our latest road trip on The World on Wheels is taking us up historic highway 395...while today's drive is filled with spectacular scenery as we cross the Mojave Desert, it's just minor league compared to what's up ahead: http://www.stumbleupon.com/su/1vIB1o

Today on The World on Wheels, we're starting another road trip this week going up another legendary road. Today, we start in the Cajon Pass, with some wild rock formations, preparing for a drive up the backside of California on Highway 395: http://tinyurl.com/75lp8wa

We've added an update to yesterday's post about comparing the cost of driving to flying when traveling to your destination at The World on Wheels. It's a real-world example calculating the cost of traveling to Seattle from Southern California which would be right on the edge of the drive/fly debate for us. Come on over and join the debate - as always your opinions are welcome and appreciated: http://tinyurl.com/79mqfk9

Planning a trip...the first thing to think of is how to get there. Usually, it's a case of drive or fly? Today's Travel Tip on The World on Wheels, we visit the pros and cons of each method to see if we'd be better off driving or flying: http://tinyurl.com/79mqfk9

Yosemite is experiencing one of its mildest winters in years. The bad news is that water supplies will be low in the summer...if the weather doesn't change...but the good news is that great weather and spectacular views will be available much longer than usual. Come over to The World on Wheels and check out our Yosemite report: http://tinyurl.com/32853an

Today on The World on Wheels...just east of Bakersfield (one of my favorite underrated cities) lies the outdoor sports paradise of the southern Sierras. Whitewater rafting, boating, skiing (both water and snow), giant Sequoias, old gold mines, ghost towns, and more. It's Kernville, California: http://tinyurl.com/23t7b2z
