CARIBBEAN DAY OF GIVING PROVIDES
MULTIPLE CHARITY OPTIONS FOR HURRICANE RELIEF
 
New York, October 6, 2017 - As the Caribbean Day of Giving moves to attract the widest possible public participation, the organizers have create space that is providing options through which the community can donate to disaster relief efforts.
 
Among the options through which the public can donate are the Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO) Relief Fund, The American Foundation of the University of the West Indies (AFUWI) and The American Friends of Jamaica (AFJ). Each non-profit have different recipients on the ground in the affected countries, primarily of which is the Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency.
 
All entities and the Caribbean Day of Giving team have expressed sensitivity to the need for transparency and accountability. They have emphasized that there will be reporting on the progress made towards relief and recovery to ensure that the public see that all funds raised are being used for the intended purpose.
CDEMA plans to post updates on its website www.cdema.org.
 
A radiothon on Saturday, October 7 will afford for the possible widest public participation in the relief drive. Individuals may listen online at www.caribbeandayofgiving.com or hear more from one of over 30 participating radio programs.
 
The radiothon will also be broadcast live starting from the Door Restaurant in Queens (8am-1pm) and later in the day from the Dumpling Shop in the Bronx (1pm-6pm).
 
Several artistes have agreed to participate in the Caribbean Day of Giving radiothon including Richie Stephens, Nadine Sutherland, Mr. Vegas and Tarrus Riley.
