Overshadowed by Los Angeles and overlooked by travelers to the area, Pasadena is the center of the universe on New Year's Day. It's also a nice place to visit anytime and makes a great base of operations when you're visiting the L.A. area.   • Get Outdoors Day • June 11, 2011
  • National Public Lands Day • September 24, 2011
  • Veterans Day Weekend • November 11 through 13, 2011
