We are having some sublime weather this weekend but remember, a month ago it rained for 6 days nonstop!  It alway seems to clear up just in time for it's close-up in the Rose Parade...I think it's law in Pasadena that it has to be sunny on New Year's Day. ;)

Today it was sunny, 77 degrees, and calm seas in San Diego. Saw 10 gray whales, flukes and all, + ~250 dolphins circling the boat. Do you hate me yet, or must I win the lottery first?

OK, I guessed that because Budget seems to always pull some shenanigans on me at the last second like that.

It had never happened to me before, Darryl. It wasn't Budget, but I can't say what it was, because I don't want to get the guy in trouble.

Ed, this has happened to me.  I'm going to guess Budget.

Returned a rental car in San Diego w/o refilling the tank. Guy at the rental lot says, "We charge a lot for gas. Want to drive out again & refill?"  And this is after he'd gone to the trouble of processing my papers. This never happened to me before. And you?

Super-annuated hippie passed us on a rugged trail today in San Padre National Forest, near Ojai. Most impressive: He was barefoot. Ojai always strikes me as being full of people like that. Is this the west coast Sedona?

Come Play in the Snow!

Yosemite National Park is spectacular during the Winter months. Even though many of the high country roads are closed you can access Yosemite Valley on Highway 120 all year. You can ski at Badger Pass, snowshoe
most anywhere and enjoy the silence and beauty of Winter in Yosemite
Valley. Badger Pass ski resort is open for downhill and cross country
skiing adventures as well. Travel through the historic town of Groveland and
add a Yosemite Audio Adventure to your visit!http://www.yosemite-tours.org to your trip.

Great family entertainment! Fully narrated, entertaining and educational!

Today on The World on Wheels...It's the height of Snowbird season in the desert. Check out one of the world's most unique art galleries. It's outdoors, free, and huge. From one of our most popular reports: http://wheelstraveler.blogspot.com/

Growing vines since 1838, it's one of California's oldest wine countries. It's also the most endangered of the state's AVAs. Today on The World on Wheels it's a new report on the Inland Empire wine industry: http://tinyurl.com/27tdbvu
