Porto is the second most populous city in Portugal, located in the north of the country, on the right bank of the River Douro. Porto is one of the oldest cities in Europe, the former capital of the country and the current capital of port wine.

In the architectural sense, the city is very diverse: there are also medieval monuments and modern buildings. Boavista district is the gateway to the port through which tourists usually enter into the city. The highest church tower of Portugal is a granite tower Klerigosh. The city is well-known for high bridges, abundance of fortresses, castles and museums. In Porto there is the oldest botanical garden.
