Costa Rica

It's truly remarkable how much this small Central American country packs in, from shimmering beaches to live volcanoes to mysterious cloud forests. Despite pockets of overdevelopment, it's still an eco-tourism wonder. As they say in CR, "pura vida!"

Hello Group

I will be moving to Parrita in October. Any fellow Americans there?

I have been living 6 months in CR and 6 months in US for the past 7 years and now I want to stay year round in Parrita. Our new house is away from flood-prone area.

For a bunch of green hotels, most with Eco Ratings, in Costa Rica go to: Green Hotels

Small hotels in Costa Rica, Small hotels are going beyond their duty, changing the way of service "Meaning".

Monteverde Rustic Lodge, a 13 rooms hotel nestled in Monteverde Cloud Forest, has one goal; Superior Hotel Service and it is because the Badilla Brothers, really share knowledge about the area but most is because they go beyond of regular hospitality making feel their customer’s part of the family. All guests who had the opportunity to stay here really enjoyed the time. A fresh cup of coffee, express check-in and a big smile is just the beginning of a nice and comfortable stay. The hotel itself does not have a lot of amenities even more, there is no in-room TV but the coffee area and the lobby is always full of talks, tales and experiences. People simply describe the hotel as the best cozy hotel in the Monteverde area.

Vista Atenas Bed & Breakfast, 10 rooms, beautiful landscape, quiet and perfect for first and last night in Costa Rica. Jonathan, Manager, does what we call friendly service. As soon as you get here, the fresh coffee and the landscape will make you forget your busy world. This small Bed and Breakfast, located in Atenas Costa Rica, was built up in the hills of Atenas town, where the mountain divides the Central Valley to Central Pacific area. Convenient location; 30 minutes away from San Jose Airport, on the main road that connects San Jose to Jaco beach and Manuel Antonio National Park.

Villa Bonita Hotel in Alajuela Costa Rica, only 6 cottage rooms, large gardens, beautiful landscapes make this small bed & breakfast a great spot for first and last night in Costa Rica. Villa Bonita sits in the slopes of Alajuela town, on the main road to Poas Volcano and only 10 minutes from San Jose Costa Rica Airport. The owners Eduardo and Greivin made of their home a comfortable and quiet place to stay. As soon as you get here, you ll be treated as family.
