I can certainly endorse Indonesia as a top dive destination. I went to Manado, Northern Sulawesi in 2007 and dove both Bunaken National Park and the Lembeh Strait. If you like critter diving, it doesn't get much better than this.

Indonesia certainly does have some of the best diving and snorkeling in the world. I did a dive trip to Komodo back in May, but half the boat was snorkelers, and they reported seeing most of what we divers saw - turtles, sea snakes, sharks, etc. Komodo has to be one of the best destinations for (light) adventure / nature junkies, but it actually doesn't seem to get that many visitors.

As an avid snorkeler and once wanna-be marine biologist, I was fascinated by a recent posting on GoNomad.com: Indonesia's Raja Ampat Islands: The Best Snorkeling in the World. Among other things, 75 percent of all coral species are found here, and over 1,000 species of fish. Ah, well, one day...

Hi, Brian! You know, I'm curious, what are the top characteristics of the diving in your part of the Philippines, what's it known for?

Hi Brian and welcome to the site and the group! You know, we'd love to see some of your lovely dive photos right here on this group, so that when new divers come in they can see what a great destination the Philippines are!
