I think Umbria is a great place for families . You can relax and at the same time visit interesting places as good as anything you will find in Italy. re the Cascata delle Marmore waterfall, Le Fonti del Clitunno river springs, as well as the art cities of Assisi, Spoleto, Montefalco and Todi, Lake Trasimeno is at the heart of the green heart of Italy, so called because it is the only region in south and central Italy without access to the sea. The region also offers possibilities for trekking, rafting, horse riding.

I would highlight 2 places in Umbria for accommodation: Podere Calderuccio (http://bit.ly/Claderuccio) - an 18th century casale villa between Perugia, Gubbio and Assisi - and Locanda San Giuseppe (http://bit.ly/LocandaSanGiuseppe),  a quiet and relaxing family owned country inn and restaurant just a few miles away from Amelia in south Umbria between the Tiber and Nera valleys.

Hiking in Himalaya   Hiking in Nepal is adventure travel extraordinaire, to travel the well worn foot trails of Nepal and finally come face to face with the splendor of the Himalaya has always been the dream of trekkers worldwide. Hiking the back country trails of one's own homeland has always provided a respite from the hectic, often stress-loaded pace of life. But to escape to Nepal and walk within the exotic and alive culture here is the hiker's ultimate quest. On the trail, time stretches out and the mind clears, focusing simply on the act of placing one foot in front of the other and enjoying the sweet scent of mountain air. Trekking in Nepal, as a form of adventure travel, has evolved into a fine-tuned business today, offering a variety of destinations and styles to assist the many trekkers who dream of walking in the Himalaya. An individual hiker can hop tea house to tea house along trails soaking up the cozy atmosphere of the local lodges. For those preferring the more expedition style experience of a full service trek, kerosene-lit dining tents and early morning bed tea become amenities to life on the trail. Walking the trails in Nepal brings the added experience of cultural contact with Nepal's unique and varied population, its open, friendly people who offer their worm hospitality, and the chance to pass through villages to encounter rural life. Levels of difficulty and stamina required can be graded depending upon the motivation and fitness of the travelers. for more information please visit our website at http://www.sherpajourneys.net
