Interesting item just appeared in Gadling, re the "safest" ethnic food in the U.S. Answer: Korean (I would also add Ethiopian).

Food in Asia-I've an assignment where I need to get information on different Asian celebrations for the Chinese New Year. I need regional recipes tied into the celebrations with credits for the chef/property and dish history, jpgs are desirable. The article will be on a site that gets 1.6 million visitors a month to food page and will be introduced in a mailing to 250,000 subscribers. If you represent any properties that can assist with this, I would really appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

In regard to a post on beer in this group and an advert concerning a book on whisk(e)y I saw, I came across today news of the first whisky to be produced in England for more than a century. It is a single malt, probably quite obviously, and is distilled in Norfolk. I'm a little confused, because the news report attached said that it had been in casks for three years, when whisky generally does not see the light of day before 10. Having once—and once!—had a seven-year-old, this confuses me.

Actually Gourmet magazine had lost critical mass of devoted food lovers, specially the traveling types (I did) Since lots of collective knowledge and discovery and adventure was coming online...

RE: It would be fascinating to hear the reaction of some of the foodies in here (at least among the Yank contingent) to the big news this week: the announced shuttering of Gourmet magazine... C'est la vie! Go online now! Make Tripatini the new Gourmet! Challenge to the foodies.
