The Gambia is a hotspot for sex tourism

In mainland Africa's smallest country, high unemployment/poverty and an also high dependence on tourism (around 80 percent of the economy, and especially from Europe) has added up to this West African country gaining a reputation as one of the world's most notorious destinations for sex tourism. That includes older women seeking younger men (this is especially prevalent), older men seeking younger women, men seeking other men - and most alarming of all, male tourists exploiting children of both sexes. And because of how lucrative it is, most local politicians seem to look the other way. Here's a report that delves into the phenomenon a bit.
