Visitors to Rome face burgeoning garbage crisis

It's sad to say, but in the Eternal City - never Europe's cleanest to begin with - residents and visitors alike have been for months having to cope with mountains of trash as well as increasingly potholed streets, as Rome's Five-Star party mayor has cluelessly flailed about (tthough to be fair, she is up against generations of corruption in which the Mafia has thoroughly infiltrated municipal trash collection).
