We are always looking for traveler nominations of their favorite independently owned hotels, b&b's, and hostels with rooms under US$150 (and often way under). We currently have reviews for accommodations in over 50 countries - and recently got a big thumbs up from Arthur Frommer. Check us out at Darn Good Digs.

Great rate for Napa Valley/Sonoma. Our favorite hotel in the area, the Flamingo Resort...a perfectly preserved 1950's "Vegas" style retro resort...has a $99 weekday rate that includes tickets to the Sonoma County Fair. Use the promo code "GRAPE" when making reservations: http://tinyurl.com/274qvn5 .

I've heard of trashy hotels, but I just heard of a hotel in Rome made of recycled trash! Would you stay there??

One of our best trips was when the hotel gave away our accessible room and had no choice except to upgrade us to the Presidential Suite. It's another trip to the Big Apple, today on The World on Wheels: http://tinyurl.com/2unyw8o
