Hello Karin,
Thank you so much. Local knowledge is worth gold. We ate there last year at a place that had opened that day! Can't offhand remember the name but it was something to do with a newspaper - .... Giornale? - and was between the Rialto Bridge and St Mark's. I need to dig thru my files to fin the name.

For a great place for pizza in Naples, try Da Michele. It offers just two types, the plane tomato and the margherita. Can't go wrong. Go ahead and get in the queue.:))

Oh how I understand that Ed. I am working on Italian material right now (can't you tell?) and it's like having a little holiday there. Great fun, food and travel writing.

Thanks, Sally; happy to hear this. Meanwhile, no joke: I just wandered through Greenwich Village with my feet in Manhattan but my mind on a real Neapolitan pizza.

Thanks for the advice, Ed. I've done that. Still learning the nuances of Tripatini, but it's working well for me. Great concept!

Good questions, Sally; in fact, I'm awaiting the answers, too. If you want more people to see questions like these, post them on Tripatini's Ask A Travel Expert widget: http://www.tripatini.com/forum/topic/new

Any opinions on a really authentic (not tourist rip-off) pizza place in Naples? ALSO authentic places to eat in Venice. Any food tours or must-see markets in either?

Guidebooks often call Ristorante Corte Sconta the best fish restaurant in Venice. My brother, who travels more than most travel writers and cooks better than most chefs, is just back from a vacation in the Mediterranean. He says "best in Venice" is beside the point; he insists it's the best fish restaurant on earth. Your thoughts?
