Hi Meryl, If you're dead set on Cancun I'd recommend the JW Marriot, the Ritz Carlton, or perhaps the Meridian.  I'd be glad to discuss the differences if you'd like: 1-800-513-1587 toll free from the US & Canada or +52-322-225-9821 from elsewhere.  Good luck!

Thtanks so much for your comment.  We've already been to Playa del Carmen.  We haven't visited Cancun and I'm really not looking for a place that's overrun with spring breakers and kids.  I would like some adults who do not have kids, particularly no little kids.  Ideas in Cancun?  I would like to visit Tulum as well.

Hi Meryl,

We live in Mexico and right now our 23 yr. old is doing her " practicas" for her Hotel and Restaurant major at the Maroma Beach Resort in Playa del Carmen which is where all the kids go now, since they consider Cancun for raunchy tourists who are drunk, fondling girls in the elevators, urinating in the streets, and "enjoying" the wet-t-shirt-competitions with Tequila Jello Shooters.... So for the kids who want a little more than "all-inclusive-boringly the same-hotels" with a too-heavy drinking scene, then Playa del Carmen is the place to go-try getting hotel recomendations from Tripadvisor.  Our daugher who lived previously in Playa prefers Tulum since it is eco-tourism at it´s finest.

Re: Cancun -- I'm looking for a luxury hotel in Cancun for spring break with my college-aged son.  I do not want to be in the middle of spring breakers.  However, I'd like a luxury hotel, that's quiet, in a good location, on a good beach.... with great facilities.  Recommendations, please.
