Our blog this week includes a look at one of New York City's quirkiest places to hang your hat a spell: the Chelsea Hotel. Check it out!

I went to the New York Times Travel Show yesterday. It was in a different location than it was when I went two years ago, and it felt a little different, too. What did other people think?

EagleFest this weekend. FYI, the Eagle Institute doesn't guarantee in writing that you'll see eagles on E.I.'s tours, but I do. Big Bird loves the New York - Pennsylvania banks of the Upper Delaware River, and E.I.'s guides are (you should pardon the expression) eagle-eyed. http://www.eagleinstitute.org/

Wavelength indeed: You could have real mermaids.

Re your forecast, Ed -- oy, what a card. And I hope in this case not a prescient one. Re Coney Island, I guess then the annual Mermaid Parade would take on a whole different wavelength, eh?

What other destinations were in the top five? I would guess Las Vegas and Orlando, but those are just guesses. Here's an article that almost answers my question, but it's too much about specific attractions w/in cities: http://www.thetravelerszone.com/travel-destinations/top-25-most-vis...
