My 'first time' on tripatini.  I am new to all of this and somewhere, I read about children and B&B's and wanted to share our experiences.  We run a small B&B on the Coromandel Peninsula in NZ.  We do host children & even some extended families & its a wonderful experience.  Not sure how we do it, but we seem to attract the nicest people & best behaved kids!  Many 'Happy birthday's are sung around the breakfast table with Rob playing guitar & singing.  Everyone joins in & a family with 2 daughters birthdays on 2 consecutive days, wanted each girl to have their 'own' special breakfast.  It was a lovely exerience for all the guests.  We've even looked after younger children while parents enjoyed the use of our kayak for an hour.  Reading our guest books, they are full of interesting 'art work' / poetry by childen who leave their 'thank you' in a very special way.  By all means, take your children to a B&B.  Its a wonderful experience for them too.

The  Spray back from the waves ,especially with the early morning sun, is SPECTACULAR.During the day the weather has been CALM ,the sun patio gets lovely hot and balmy.

Anne & Sandy Cooper of Te Ngae Lodge Rotorua New Zealand send condolences to the people of Christchurch and are sure you will be up and running quickly due to the resiliance and bravery of  NZ's.

We are the winners of Trip Advisor Travellers Choice Award 2010 and are very proud of our reviews We have 3 guest rooms in our Main House and a separate 2 bdrm suite. We are handy to the geothermal area and are happy to advise on Maori culture  experience , walking in our beautiful area, adventure activities,

and places to enjoy great food.

NZ is still functioning as normal and Christchurch will be too.

Really sorry you guys have been put through this all again !! We have a lot of family down in ChCh and they are all safe and well thanks God .... but all have more damage again 

We have guests staying with us now that were with you for the quake Rae and Jane and they are starting to relax and get back on their feet after going through a harrowing experience down town on the 22nd ... I do hope that you are able to get all their belongings our of their car that they lost in the parking building .... but they are all set up here to fly early to Auckland on Monday to get new passport so they can get home .... we are taking very special care of them so that get over this experience OK and still have a great view of NZ ... they have commented on how amazing Kiwi's have been over all this and are really grateful for all your help

we stayed with you a few years ago and know what a grand old lady she is

( "that is the house I'm talking about" !)

Hi Everyone,   We are safe– and our Families are also - and we appreciate your concern! Our grand old  lady Eliza has suffered much more damage on 22nd February than it did on the 4th September.    There is significant internal damage, but we are structurally sound.  All the downstairs windows are broken so we are boarded and tarpaulined. We have no water, sewerage or gas.   We have limited ability to respond to emails at present due to computer damage.  Telephone is working intermittently.   We have had to totally close for at least 2 weeks, maybe longer. It will be a few months until we are fully operational.     For progress reports please go to our website www.elizas.co.nz which we will endeavour to update regularly.   Eliza's Manor on Bealey 82 Bealey Avenue CBD Christchurch 8013
