A dream of a lifetime will soon be fulfilled - I am going to Paris the first week of May!  I would appreciate suggestions on a REASONABLE hotel - centrally located for day trips.  Merci!

I have a favorite that's not too expensive.   There are so many hotels in Paris and its metro and bus system makes it easy to get from here to there.

Hotel de la Paix         Try this one  hotel  remembering May is VERY high season.  Best, Karen

Bonjour Paris

Thank you Karen! Looks very nice. I'll keep you posted.

Barclay International Group (www.barclayweb.com) has thousands of apartments within the city limits of Paris. Most are centrally located and will give you more space at a lower cost than hotels. Some will allow stays as short as one night. You'll also have use of a kitchen which can help you cut down on restaurant costs.

Hi Maureen, I stayed at the Hotel Diana last March, I love Paris and go every chance I get!  Since I had friends meeting me this time,  I needed a centrally located, inexpensive place, and The Hotel Diana is awesome.  Clean, and in The Fifth Arrondisement, close to many of the tourist hot spots, it is also very safe.  I love Paris, and I have a wealth of info to share with you if you would like.

We stayed at a lovely apartment in the 6th thru AhParis.com for 5 nights. I highly recommend renting an apartment over a hotel - you get much more for your money! I would say being in the 5th or 6th arrondissements on the Left Bank is a good place to be, very central, a little less expensive than the Right Bank and quite charming. Our place was just 2 blocks from the Luxembourg Gardens. Bon voyage!
