the world's smartest travel social network
One of America's most historic states, it ranges from the urban flair (and grit) of Philadelphia and Pittsburgh to the bucolic beauties of the Poconos, Dutch Country, and Bucks County. And for history, don't you dare miss Philly and Gettysburg!

Chuck, great comments on PA's budget and the impact of tourism. Richard, hope all is well with you and Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, whichever is pc for you guys!
We'll also be happy to answer any questions or help you with some ideas about PA Tourism. As Chuck pointed out our tourism budget has been reduced dramatically along with many other state services. We are very active in the social media environment with our new Office of Social Media that hopefully keeps getting the word out. Check us out on Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Foursquare or Flickr - our channels are all: visitPA. Thanks.
Thank you as well. I'm happy to participate, and am active on several tourism boards locally, state level and nationally. So, I'm also pleased to help! Regards to you this Christmas. Our present arrived at 3am this morning when our Marine & his beautiful wife arrived for the holiday! Stay well!
Thanks Chuck. I'll bookmark your page and thanks for offering to answer Qs on PA. Merry Xmas.
I'm a new follower, and want to reflect on Allie's 10/06 post. Most PA residents are not aware of the impact of PA Tourism. I work in that sector; and here are some important facts: Tourism promotion funding was reduced from $32M in 2009 to $14.2 in 2010; and then the Rendell administration cut further to only $11.2M midway thru the year; an overall 65% reduction. Did you know Tourism is the 2nd largest industry in PA, behind Agriculture? And, that the Tourism budget in the Pocono Mountain Region rivals Philly's? A mere $28 billion is injected into the PA economy with 400,000 jobs & $10.7 billion in wage/benefits & $2.8 billion on state & municipal taxes. Help us keep PA a great tourism spot. And, if I can help anyone with answers on PA tourism; if I don't know the answer, I'll find out! Regards to everyone.
Pat and the kids want to ski Camelback Friday Christmas Eve. Free if you dress like Santa elves or raindeer. Have any of you done this?
