Austrian Air Vacation Package Combines Old World with New World – from $1,559

Roundtrip Air from San Francisco or Los Angeles to Europe, Three Nights in New York plus Three Nights in Vienna

ATLANTA (February 2010) – Why didn’t they think of this before? For travelers from the West Coast, a trip to Europe is truly a long haul. Even though most passengers traveling from California to “the old country” have to transfer in New York before continuing their trip, very few airlines allow an actual stop-over in New York to break the almost 24-hour journey. Austrian Airlines Vacation Center (www.austrianair-vacations.com) has come up with a new set of vacation packages called “Old World/New World” that now lets international passengers add a three-night stop in New York to their vacation.

The first “Old World/New World” package (www.austrianair-vacations.com/nycvie) includes roundtrip air between San Francisco or Los Angeles and New York on United Airlines, three nights hotel accommodation in New York - plus roundtrip air between New York and Vienna on Austrian Air and three nights hotel accommodation in Vienna! This package is priced at $1,559 per person, double occupancy for travel between April 1 – May 13, 2010. For travel after May 13, the rate will be $1,999. Air transportation is in economy class, and the featured hotels are the Fitzpatrick Grand Central in New York (www.fitzpatrickhotels.com/grand-central/) and the Hotel Donauwalzer (www.donauwalzer.at) in Vienna.

In addition, two other “Old World/New World” vacation packages are offered, with three extra nights hotel in a third city (your choice of  either Budapest or Prague) for a total of nine nights (New York – Prague – Vienna (www.austrianair-vacations.com/nycprgvie)  or New York – Budapest – Vienna (www.austrianair-vacations.com/nycbudvie) A real deal: these ‘triple treats’ start at $1,759 per person. Travel on all packages is valid any day of the week, subject to availability. Rates include daily breakfast buffet (except in New York), hotel service charges and hotel taxes. Single supplements, upgrades, additional combinations and extensions are available upon request.

“This original approach, which allows you to break your vacation and combine the Old World with the New World, will appeal to many international travelers from the West Coast,” predicts Bram Majtlis, president of Austrian Airlines Vacation Center. “And if you don’t want to stop in New York on your way to Europe, you can always stop in New York on the return – our packages are quite flexible!”

All Old World/New World vacation packages must be paid in full within 7 days after reservations are confirmed, and no later than 14 days prior to departure. Once confirmed, the packages are non-refundable, non-transferable, and cannot be changed. All packages will be booked on Austrian Airlines in economy class and are subject to schedule and space availability. Your minimum stay is 3 nights or one Saturday overnight, and your maximum stay in Europe is 30 days. City Steals package prices include fuel surcharges but do not include US Customs / INS / Aphis fees / International Transportation Tax / Passenger Facility Charges / Civil Aviation Security Fee / domestic and foreign Security and Airport Charges of approximately USD $170 per passenger, depending on the itinerary. Additional taxes and fees may be collected by foreign governments.  All taxes / fees / surcharges are subject to change and exchange rate fluctuations and may vary on the day of booking.
