Just heard from my pal Mark over at Hilton Hotels about a deal that might make baseball fans perk up a bit. How many hotels can you think of with literally a front-row seat at a Major League stadium? The gym and plenty of the 757 rooms at the fancy new Hilton Baltimore, which opened last August, have bird's-eye views of the field at Camden Yards right next door -- equivalent to rooftop viewing but better because the views are unobstructed. So during its first ball season, now through October 4 (now just under 40 Orioles home games), management's trying to leverage this by offering a discount "Room With a View" package: $229 gets four people (family, pals, two couples, whatever) a room to share and watch the game from, plus breakfast and tickets to the Sports Legends Museum. Sounds kinda cool, actually, even if the Orioles are off to a sucky start this season -- it's still early days, folks. And you can always time it to when your home team's in town, right?
