Polish cities EURO 2012

1 day – arrival in Warsaw , transfer to hotel , dinner and overnight ,

2 day – after breakfast – sightseeing tour of Warsaw – the capital of Poland . It occupies an area of 517 km2 and has a population of 1,7 mln. The c/ss includes visit to the Royal

Castle – a symbol of Polish statehood , the Old Town and the Royal Route, the La-

zienki Park with the monument of F.Chopin . In 1596 Warsaw became the capital

of Poland . In 1980 the Old Town of Warsaw was put on the UNESCO World Heri-

tage List. Now , Warsaw is the political , economic and cultural centre of the country ,

combining history and tradition with dynamic modernity .

In the afternoon – time at leisure .

Dinner at hotel and overnight

3 day – drive to Malbork and visit to the Malbork Castle – a former residence of the Grand Master of the Teutonic Knights.

In the late afternoon – accommodation at one of 3* Gdansk hotel's .

4 day – after breakfast – sightseeing of Gdansk and Sopot .

Gdansk – Poland's maritime capital , boasts a history going back a thousand years .

Gdansk is known as ' the Amber City ' with highly specialized local artists and crafts-

men. With population of over 750.00 the Tri-city/Trojmiasto / conurbation comprising

Gdansk , Gdynia and Sopot ranks as one of the largest in the country. The sightseeing

includes: restored Gdansk Town Hall / 1686-95/ , the Court of Artus , the Armoury

/ 1602-05 / , the largest Gothic Church in Poland of Holy Virgin / 15-16th century / ,

the Golden Gate and the well known symbols of Gdansk : the Neptune's Fountain/1615/

and the Crane / 1442 / .

We'll visit also Sopot – one of Poland's premier seaside resorts .The pier constructed

in 1928 and later rebult , is the longest / 512 m / in whole Baltic area. Sopot , with

many houses in Art Nouveau style , has a quite different atmosphere from Gdansk and

is a residence for many artists, actors and architects .

5 day – drive to Poznan . En route sightseeing of Torun – the home town of famous astronomer Nicolaus Copernicus . Visit to his home , planetary and the Old Town .

In the late afternoon – accommodation , dinner and overnight in Poznan

6 day – after breakfast – sightseeing of Poznan , the capital of Wielkopolska /Greater Poland /with population of ca. 560 000 . Poznan eventful history is reflected in high-class historical buildings , majority of which are located alongside the Royal-Imperial

Route. The city's showcase is its renaissance Town Hall with legendary goats up on the

tower , which attracts thousands of tourists to the Market Square. Each year the Inter-

national Poznan Fair is visited by approx. one million people . Poznan is also home

to world-famous choirs: the Cathedral Choir and the Boy's and Men's Philharmony

Choir. Our sightseeing tour includes : the Old Market Square and adjacent areas : the

Dzialynski Palace- the Franciscan Church and Jesuit College , the Emperor Castle , the

Raczynski Library , the Botanic Garden and Ostrow Tumski .

In the afternoon – drive to Wroclaw .

7 day – sightseeing of Wroclaw , Poland's fourth largest city/ 640 000 / , it is the major commertial,industrial and education centre for the region , which borders the Czech Republic andGermany . Especially worth to see is the Old Town with its Gothic Town Hall and a complex of mediaeval architecture at Ostrow Tumski. Very impressive is the baroque interior of Leopoldine Hall with gilt ornaments, paintings and sculptures , located in the 18thcentury building of Wroclaw University .

In the afternoon – visit to ' Panorama Raclawicka' - a rotunda housing the magnificent

painting of 120 x 15 meters of Raclawice battle in 1794 , when Polish peasants defe -

ated the mighty Russian army . A multimedia fountain before the Centennial Hall of

Wroclaw is the latest attraction , opened on 1 May 2010 .
