San Juan, PR Cruise Port Shuttle and Overnight Hotel Service

Good Morning,

I have a family of 4 adults and 8 children cruising out of San Juan, PR. The Family will be arriveing  1 day early prior to Cruise and staying 2 day later. Can anyone recommend a economical hotel  and shuttle, or private car service for pre and post cruise that will hold this family. Their budget is limited so I would  like to use only 2 rooms.

Unless the policy has changed it is my understanding that the hotels in San Juan are not allowed to have shuttles - give the business to the taxi drivers. I have put cruise clients in the Howard Johnson's in Old San Juan. Not fancy by any means, but the location is great. Easy walk around Old San Juan and down to El Morro. There used to be a Sherator near the port and I think it has just undergone renovation. Check out both of them on www.HotelRewards.com I use that site all the time - easy to work on, and they pay 10% commission that you don't have to chase.
