What would you most want to see & do in NYC over the holidays? Last in my 3-part NYC series:http://wanderlustandlipstick.com/blogs/wanderboomer/2011/12/01/a-fa...

Today on The World on Wheels, we feature a rare contribution from my wife...a photo essay. I always surrender the window seat to her and she'll take some pictures now and again. Here is a set from our latest travels...The View from the Window Seat: http://tinyurl.com/7lmbo3o

Isn't the world a wonderful place with so much spectacular scenery and other visually stunning objects to photograph.

We are in he fortunate position to be touring the South West of America, specifically Utah and Arizona....this is one of the many wonders, A Slot Canyon which is formed by swirling flood waters in the desert that carve these amazing shapes and colours.

Our fall Southwest adventure comes to a conclusion today at The World on Wheels as we present a new photo and video essay of Route 66 through the California desert. Hope you had a good time...http://tinyurl.com/6raruaz

If you have an interest in travel photography, see my "18 Tips for Shooting from a Train" article.  Just follow the link to my blog which has a short, one minute video introducing El Chepe train in Copper Canyon, Mexico, as well as a link to the full article.

Interesting news for photogs:

Online book publishing service Blurb today launched a new way to publish collections of photos - as an eBook for the iPad. The new eBooks come in templated or custom two-page layouts, which readers can swipe through, search the text of and zoom into full resolution images.

Publishers pay $1.99 per book and get to keep 100% of the profit beyond that cost. Paper books from Blurb start at $10 each to print on demand. Two buck easy-to-make eBook publishing on demand sounds awesome.

Thanks, Sam. Those rams are a part of an outdoor art park. A big landowner in the area commissioned a sculptor to make them. There are dozens scattered around the area, reached by dirt roads.

I'm not aware of any Civil War actions here but we do have our share of re-enactors here.
