Washington State

Seattle's one of the USA's best cities for visitors, but the lures here are many: apple-growing & wine country, Mount Rainier & the Cascades mountains, the eco-wonderful San Juan Islands, & other cool cities like Spokane, Tacoma, & capital Olympia.

I suppose I should join Oregon, too, now that I'm living out here.
For now, this tweet I just encountered:
"Random thought. The weather today in Seattle is just like you all probably imagine it to be constantly."

Good question about Washington State wines on our Ask A Travel Expert widget. If you can help, you'll do a favor for a Tripatini member and you might even win our London package.

You've sure got it figured out now. And what great recommendations!

Done, Ed!

I don't have the whole Ask a Travel Expert system figured out yet. I thought I was posting there, but obviously that was a big ooops!

Mary Jo, I love this list -- and your attention to location, which is everything in Seattle. Can you repost those answers on the Ask A Travel Expert widget? This way you're entered in the London getaway contest.

I'd suggest:

Purple (4 locations -- downtown, Woodinville, Kirkland, Bellevue): http://www.thepurplecafe.com/

The Local Vine - (Belltown): http://www.thelocalvine.com/

Portalis (Ballard -- a wine shop with bistro): http://portaliswines.com/shop-bar/

Enjoy!

Another great Seattle ghost tour that visits many "haunted" spots throughout the city and that's narrated with chilling tales is Haunted Happenings. The tour is guided by Jake, a veritable paranormal guru who will leave you with more questions than answers. Lots of fun. http://www.privateeyetours.com/haunted.htm
