TBEX, otherwise known as the Travel Bloggers Exchange, is having its second annual conference later this month. I missed the first one last year in Chicago, but I'm really looking forward to seeing a whole bunch of my favorite travel bloggers swoop down on New York City and meet face to face for the first time. The online social networking scene is great and all, but it's just not the same.

TBEX was founded by Kim Mance of GoGalavanting, and she (with her cohorts) deserves a lot of credit. You've heard the phrase, "...like herding cats?"  Yeah. Exactly. It would seem like an insurmountable task to some, but from all accounts the TBEX conf in Chicago last year was a roaring success. I know this year's will be great too (Disclaimer: I'm on a panel).

I grew up near NYC and am really comfortable there, but it can seem intimidating to people who are more used to fewer people and tall buildings per square mile. Are you going? Or, did TBEX sell out before you bought a ticket, but you live nearby? If so, come meet your fellow travel writers at the end of June for drinks. There will be lots of people in the travel industry there, such as reps from Homeaway Vacation Rentals and Diamond PR. Any questions? Fire away. I'm looking forward to a great conference in a great world-class city.
