Many are the countries that offer their very own fascinating & tasty distillations -- Scottish single malts, Mexico's tequila, Kentucky bourbon, habushu in Japan -- you name it. An intoxicating way of exploring the world! And of course most countries also have their own beers - often very distinctive indeed. We raise a glass to all of it here!

It will be a little while before I can get the full reports together, but if you'd like to see the highlights (and a couple of disappointments) from our recent Midwest Baseball Tour, go to this link at The World on Wheels: http://tinyurl.com/2de8sat

On the first round of the Skid Row Wine Bowl it was a suprise victory by Two Buck Chuck. Will he win again? Today, it's round 2 of the Skid Row Wine Bowl on The World on Wheels' Cocktail Hour. This time it's Merlot.

It's The Cocktail Hour Compendium today on The World on Wheels. Think of it as your video bartender's guide: http://tinyurl.com/ygdebgr

Releasing the third of 3 special WhiskyCast episodes from my Scotland trip later today...this one focuses on highlights from this past week's World Whiskies Conference, where I was privileged to be a speaker (my comments are not included), and features interviews with Irish Distillers CEO Alexandre Ricard, Drambuie's Miranda Rennie, and longtime Suntory master whisky blender Dr. Koichi Inatomi...

You'll definitely want to listen to Episode 249 from Monday, where I got to taste the world's oldest single malt whisky...a 70-year-old Mortlach from Gordon & MacPhail...and Episode 248 from last weekend, recorded on location at the Highlander Inn's legendary whisky bar in Craigellachie, Scotland.

It's contest time! Today's Cocktail Hour is all about tequila. It's a field report on a tequila tasting event. Bring your souvenir shot glass out and have a taste. For the contest, be the first to answer a trivia question and win a small prize. Details in today's Cocktail Hour at The World on Wheels: http://tinyurl.com/296b3gh
