There is something strikingly appealing about the settings and shapes of Switzerland's mountains as illustrated in these photographs. All were taken in the fall of 2010 in two remote valleys -- the Loetschental and Binntal and such better-known places in the cantons of Valais and Graubünden: Saas-Fee, Zermatt, St. Moritz and the Engadin, Davos and Klosters. Some are of the peaks are well-known, not least the iconic Matterhorn; most others are also named but, to most outsiders, nameless natural monuments. Magic mountains.
