Lima, "The City of Kings", is not only the Capital of Peru and the starting point for tourist programs in the country, but also a living sample of our past, housing one of the most important archaeological compounds as well as small "huacas" from its Inca and pre-Inca periods, along with an artistic and architectonic legacy from its Colonial and Republican past.

Its well-organised museums exhibit gold artefacts, vessels made of ceramics and textiles used by the ancient Peruvians.
