A two-day Mini-Luxury Tented Safari at Mihingo Safari Lodge gives you the best in lodging along with a taste of the African Wild. Mihingo Safari Lodge is one of those celebratory places in Uganda. It matches most any high-end lodging in Kampala but it has that added extra of being in the African Wild surrounded by splendid views that will delight you as you take it all in from the privacy of your luxurious Tent Cottage.
Day 1: Depart your lodging at 8 am for Lake Mburo National Park which is a three to four drive depending on road conditions – from Entebbe it is a bit longer. Your driver-guide will have bottled water on board the vehicle and some freshly baked Croissants from the Dutch Brood Bakery along with some Orange Juice and Ugandan fruit such as our small and sweet eating Bananas which most simply find exquisite in flavor and natural sweetness.
The drive is along the main highway from the coast of Kenya into the Congo, Rwanda and Burundi, there are many things to see that you will enjoy, such idyllic Ugandan Villages, homes with verdant Gardens of lush cooking Bananas, Papaya and Mango trees and children playing or off to school.
Arrive at Mihingo Safari Lodge where you are greeted with a wet towel and refreshing juice and most of all with the Gracious Ugandan “You are most Welcome.” Escorted to your tent cottage which is a far cry from tented camping of old but a beautiful creation that blends western comfort with the African accents – simply a most pleasant blend. The view from your tented cottage is simply fabulous and beyond compare, may it be from your deck, or even your bathroom, the views of the lake and the rolling savannah hills are before you.
Lunch is much more than a mere meal but a culinary delight when it comes to presentation and taste.
After lunch take a boat ride on the peaceful Lake Mburo, here you can see an abundance of water birds, hippos, crocodiles, animals coming to water and lovable otters traversing the lake. You can fish here for tilapia which I am sure the lodge would delight to prepare for your dinner.
There is also a beautiful swimming pool with fantastic view for you to enjoy, there is nothing like a sunrise swim.
Dinner overlooking the watering hole where animals come to water while you dine in luxurious style in the African Bush.
Nocturnal game drive with Uganda Wildlife Authority Ranger – where you see the creatures of the night including leopards. This is a drive done with
Day 2: Breakfast – simply delightful here – after breakfast go onto a horseback riding safari that is guided by an expert guide and see the park from the back of a horse. This is a two hour horseback ride safari and Lake Mburo is the only National Park in Uganda where you can take part in one. See Zebras, Buffaloes, Antelopes from the back of a horse as you venture out on the trail.
